PLANTS Love to plants was present on Isobel’s life, and a “door” to fund some of her travels and gain the permission to explore areas as Iceland. The plants she collected during her life are stored in Kew Gardens, the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and the British Museum. This is a celebration of her love to plants and botanical research, her meticulous system of archive, notes and poetry attached to her botanical findings. WORDS Isobel was a polyglot: by the time she was an adult she could speak Italian, Gaelic, Greek, Hebrew, Danish, Icelandic, Greenlandic and some Inuit words. She was as well a remarkable writer of poetry, prose and articles for the National Geographic and many journals and newspapers. This section is a celebration of her love to Words. THE DREAM Isobel hasn't started yet her adventures. Since her childhood she wanted to travel, to visit remote places. Probably being a woman at that time did not facilitate the “big jump”. Dedicated mostly to her writing, is after the dead of her father and her two brothers and a serious breakdown on 1920 that she start dreaming with a scape. This section it is a visualisation of her dream, her inner desires, flying far from the Castle on coloured canoes, which later on will be so present on he

PEOPLE LANDSCAPES To me, the most inspiring side of Isobel is her undoubtedly love for people. Her writing is full of personal anecdotes and description of communities and personal relations. But is on her films when you can notice more clearly this deep respect and admiration of humans. Many of her short films shows people laughing, playing with canoes, kids playing with their slides, dancing or feeding dogs... Images full of joy. Isobel bring to us a cheerful portraiture of northern people.

THE TRAVELLER Isobel was a flexible traveller, and her itinerary was often had to be altered and accommodate new circumstances. She was able to change schedules, ways of transport, and even her route. The hanging pieces on this section makes emphasis on just the trip: the thin line of a trip , with no map behind.
